The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie two Group Hall in Mpuluzi to render expert services towards the community.
SASSA will likely be rendering services which include new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer care enquiries, as well as the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a press release, the agency mentioned it is actually alarmed with regard to the substantial number of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The purpose on the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] more info is to reach-out to a substantial range of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This is certainly as a result of lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no fully functional office focused on service the area regularly. The support place created for intervention encounters a significant inflow of possible beneficiaries, which makes it tricky with the office to attend to all people who pay a visit to a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise additional resources to allow the servicing of all buyers and maximize use of Social Assistance providers,” the agency said.
